How do I reconnect inactive bank accounts

Sometimes bank accounts connected to Prosaic with our partner Akahu can become inactive (eg password change, or reissued credit card, or open banking service disruption). Follow the steps below to reconnect and reactivate bank accounts. It takes about 2 minutes.

🟡 Important - Switch to Official Bank Connections First

When you log into Akahu at step 3 below, if see the button to 'Switch to Official Connection with...', please do this first, following the steps in this article

Step 1 — Sign in to Prosaic

Log in to Prosaic using the email address of the person authorised on the bank accounts.

Step 2 — Click “Manage Bank Account”

From the dashboard, click Manage Bank Accounts.

You’ll be redirected to Akahu, our secure Open Banking provider.


Step 3 — Review Your Bank Connections

Once inside Akahu, you should see a list of existing bank connections

Click on the bank logo (for example ANZ), this will take you into the Review Connections flow

  1. If all your accounts are already connected and available, then simply click Done and go to step 4 below (Confirm Connections)
  2. If any bank accounts are missing, then click Add Connections
    1. This will guide you through the process of logging into your bank provider to choose the accounts you want to connect
    2. ⚠️ Important: You must select all accounts you currently use, including accounts that were already connected previously.
    3. If you only select the new account and leave existing accounts unticked, Akahu may disconnect the previously connected accounts. For example:
      1. If you already had 3 ANZ accounts connected and want to add a 4th account, you should select all 4 accounts during the review process.
    4. After this make sure you complete step 4 below (Confirm Connections)

Step 4 - confirm and redirect back to Prosaic

Once you’ve finished reviewing your accounts, you may be presented with one of two screens

  1. Your Connections

If you are returned to the Akahu dashboard (see image), where you'll see a list of all connected accounts. You must click Confirm Connections (sometimes this may say 'save connections) This will return you to Prosaic and complete the setup process.

If you don't complete this step, your bank accounts won't be linked to Prosaic


  1. Final Step

If you have gone through the process of logging into your banking app, you may be presented with the screen below.  In this case, click Continue which will redirect you to Prosaic

If you don't complete this step, your bank accounts won't be linked to Prosaic


Important: Your bank accounts will not reconnect properly unless you press Continue and return to the Prosaic client dashboard


If you need to add more connections, you can choose to Review Prosaic Connections, then add more accounts from the Akahu dashboard. But you will need to return to Prosaic using Confirm Connections if you wish to complete setup
