What's New - August 2026

August brought a number of useful improvements across invoicing, client communication, payroll, reporting and day-to-day workflow.

Here’s what’s new.

🧾 Save and reuse invoice contacts

You can now save invoice contacts in Prosaic for both businesses and individuals, with automatic NZBN and address lookup, then reuse them when creating future invoices.

We’ve also continued improving invoice payment matching, supporting attachment of files, and better visibility of outstanding invoices on the client dashboard.

💬 Client queries now work with email

When someone is mentioned in a client conversation, they can now receive an email notification and reply directly from their inbox.

Their reply and any attachments are automatically added back to the conversation in Prosaic, keeping the full history and supporting documents together.

📬 New weekly email digest

Starting next week, workspace owners and admins will receive a Monday morning summary across all their clients.

It starts with what the firm completed that week, then highlights anything needing attention, including GST returns, unreconciled transaction summary, disconnected bank feeds, outstanding invites and new client conversations.

The email only arrives when there’s something worth seeing, and can be turned off at any time under Account → Settings → Notifications.

💼 Our first payroll integration

We’re pleased to announce our first payroll integration, with Crystal Payroll.

Enter your Prosaic ledger codes into Crystal Payroll, set up branches or departments as dimensions in Prosaic, then export a Prosaic journal CSV after each pay run and import it as a manual journal.

We’re also working on further payroll integrations.

✨ Other improvements

A few other things we’ve shipped this month:

  • Smarter dimension suggestions based on previous coding
  • Bulk journal imports across multiple entities, including dimensions
  • More useful client dashboards highlighting work that needs attention
